Project Coordinator for the Botswana/ UPenn Research Consortium of HPV related cervical cancer in HIV Patients: Grant No. U54
5 Year Contract
Duties: The primary role of the Project Coordinator is to ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of project planning, implementation and evaluation of the U54 Project and provides advice on the USA National Institute of Health (NIH) regulations, policies and practice to ensure that the project complies with NIH rules and regulations. The Project Coordinator coordinates the preparation and implementation of the U54 project budgets; monitors expenditure and projects accounts; prepares financial, technical and statistical and other reports; manages project resources and provide secretarial services to the project committees.
The successful candidate will report to the Principal Investigator. The prospective candidate will teach one course per semester in the Research and Evaluation Program, conduct tutorials on Data Analysis for Research Methods courses; coordinates, supervises recruitment, data collection, data entry for research projects, supervise management of quantitative and qualitative data bases, data security and ensure data quality of all projects.
Requirements: Applicants must possess at least a Master’s Degree in Research and Evaluation. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of quantitative data analysis using such statistical tools such as SPSS and R; skills in creating questionnaire structures and programming using ACASI for data collection. Generally, experience in using a range of project management systems, computer applications and database systems to support collection, cleaning and management of subject or patient data will be given priority.
Experience: At least three year experience in Administration and Management of programs. Research work on HIV/AIDS will be an added advantage.
Competencies: The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, research and report writing skills; experience in the use of computing applications such as SPSS, Ms FrontPage, Excel, PowerPoint, HTM, ACASI and R.
