With at least three years’ relevant experience gained within international development which included supporting technical co-operation projects in developing countries, you could join the team responsible for the development and delivery of long-term technical assistance projects across the Commonwealth ensuring evidence based impact and value for money through a highly inclusive, solution driven, results-based approach.
You will be focused on project administration and management support over a wide portfolio of projects and covering the maintenance and monitoring of the budget and project management system and co-ordinating reporting. This will involve developing effective working relationships with member countries and liaising internally on the appraisal, design and evaluation of relevant technical co-operation and capacity-building projects.
This will involve preparing, managing and up-dating project budgets, contracts and funding agreements and arrangements with partner institutions. You will also contribute to documents ensuring quality, consistency and compliance; plan and manage the technical assistance budget, financial disbursements and payments; and provide advice and guidance on financial disbursements and reporting. Further tasks include developing and implementing results-based management; maintaining and up-dating web and intranet pages and co-ordinating with the Communications team to create articles and case studies; co-ordinating the recruitment process and team meetings; overseeing contract award and management; and undertaking field visits to develop, implement and evaluate projects.
Following your degree in development studies, economics or a related social science subject, you will have gained an in-depth understanding of project cycle management and results based management principles and good knowledge of international development assistance.
