We are looking to recruit two IT Systems Specialists to play a key role within our Information Technology Services Section. You’ll be responsible for providing support and assisting in the management of applications. You will need to have a thorough and detailed understanding of the systems we use, and be able to deliver solutions in a timely and appropriate manner.
The role will involve planning, implementing and supporting applications, both to business users and projects, through a structured software development lifecycle including analysis, design, testing, implementation and incident resolution. You will provide second/third-line technical support where necessary, liaise with third-party providers and ensuring SLAs are met, undertake diagnostic checks on application systems and database management systems, and document all operational processes and procedures in line with ITIL standards.
To succeed in this role you will need to be able to effectively plan and manage the delivery of your own work, keep up to date with industry developments, and maintain relevant IT policies and Procedures. There may also be the requirement to occasionally provide out-of-hours support. A pro-active team player with a customer–oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills, you must have excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills and be well versed in gathering requirements, analysis and the design of new systems.
With a degree in IT or a related field, training and extensive hands-on experience in systems analysis and design, plus ideally TOGAF and ITIL Certification you will have a customer-oriented approach, be able to technically document new systems, and provide hands-on training to users.
You will have a minimum of five years’ experience in systems analysis including experience of database administration (MS SQL 2005-2012 and other database technologies); in-depth knowledge of MS Windows Server and infrastructure; exposure to .NET & C# development and a good understanding of cloud and mobile technology. You will also have project management experience and a proficiency in document management systems and MS SharePoint.
