Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Advises the Executive Director in capacity building related activities;
- Oversees the technical assistance and capacity building activities of the Institute;
- In collaboration with colleagues and specific Member State Central Banks, Identifies potential capacity gaps; design and propose technical assistances activities and capacity building workshops and trainings;
- Periodically assesses the impact of the technical assistance and capacity building works on the improvement of remittances flows and its management;
- Participates in the documentation and dissemination of best practices;
- Prepares and submit periodic activity and mission reports;
- Works collaboratively with other colleagues to achieve organizational goals;
- Organize and service workshops, seminars and meetings;
- Performs related activities assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Work Experience Required
Education/Training
- Candidates must hold Bachelor's University Degree in Education, or Economics, or Finance and other related fields.
- A Master's in the aforementioned fields is an added advantage.
Experience
- Candidates must have at least 7 years of relevant working experience in training, capacity development and other related works, of which at least 3 years should be at senior position.
- Specific knowledge in providing training and workshop is highly desirable.
Other Technical Skills
- Working knowledge on principles and characteristics of remittances;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to organize and motivate others and to work in a multi-cultural environment;
- Excellent drafting and reporting skills;
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Firm belief in teamwork and gender equality;
- Knowledge on computer aided training and workshop tools;
- Proficiency in one of the African Union working languages.
- Knowledge of several other working language(s) would be an added advantage.
Language Requirement
- Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (English, French, Arabic and Portuguese) is a must.
- Knowledge of second or all of the other working languages would be an added advantage
Tenure of Appointment
The appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of One Year (1), of which the first three (3) month will be considered as a probationary period.

Remuneration
The salary attached to the position is a fixed monthly lump sum of US$ 7,039.79 (P3 Step5) inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff, and US$ 5,884.45 inclusive of all allowances for locally recruited staff.
