Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the post of Thatcher in the Department of Wildlife and National Parks - Kasane
SALARY: A1 -21,024 - 25,246 per annum
LEAVE: 20 Working days per annum

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Std 7 and candidates with trade in thatching from accredited institute will have an added advantage
EXPERIENCE:
At least 3 years of experience as thatcher with a Botswana registered company.
BENEFITS:
(i) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee 50%)
(ii) Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15% and employee 5%).

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To thatch and/or maintain Government grass thatched infrastructure.
DUTIES:
• Conducts routine inspection of all grass thatched facilities and attend to defects
• Orders material required for maintenance and submits requisition to supervisor for procurement.
• Prepares the thatch-grass and other relevant materials in advance before thatching.
• Collect thatch material from stores and deliver at the camp.
• Ensure safe keeping of unused thatching materials
• Undertakes any other related duties as required to meet the exigencies of the service.
