FIELD TRACKING ASSISTANT
Primary Purpose: The Field Tracking Assistant (FTA) will conduct unstructured interviews, with all young girls who dropped out of school within the sample of the Young 1ove One love Project in collaboration with Baylor.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Collects data in accordance with instructions to obtain various specified information. The data collection is conducted utilizing various methodologies and technologies, such as physical observation, telephone interviewing, personal visit interviewing or any combination thereof. In order to solicit all necessary it information on Young girl drop outs due to pregnancy.
•Manage contact information collected by Surveyors and follow it up diligently. During follow-ups, the FTA will relentlessly find a way to locate the respondent by interviewing people in the community, friends, former classmates and immediate family of the interviewee.
• The FTA will maintain clear, organized and usable daily field notes and memos regarding their tracking process, who they met and what information they have collected.
•The FTA must ensure that data collection materials, including materials and paper documents, are kept physically secure at all times and that confidentiality is maintained.
•Responsible for corresponding with potential interviewees (setting up appointments and working around interviewees’ schedules etc.)
•Identify and resolve inconsistencies, legibility, accuracy and completeness in interviewees' responses by means of appropriate questioning and/or explanation.
•Consolidates records and simplifies tracking information from interviews or surveys, using specified forms/memos..
Working conditions: As a tracker you will be required to travel frequently and for long periods in order to locate and interview our target audience. This might include working long and irregular hours as well as during weekends and holidays. This a great opportunity to appreciate and help solve the problem of school drop outs amongst Young girls. As a way of helping empower women in Botswana and a step toward stopping HIV/AIDS due to intergenerational relationships.
Skills Required:
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Strong organizational skills and fluency in Setswana and English
•Ability to develop strong and cooperative working relationships with students, teachers local community-based stakeholders and members of the community
•Ability to build rapport with young girls so as to aid in them being free enough to give out as much information as possible

SURVEYOR
•Primary Purpose: As the Baylor and Young 1ove Surveyor you’ll be going to schools to collect data in accordance with instructions to obtain various specified information. This will be through self administered surveys and furthermore explain survey objectives and procedures to participants, honoring research ethics and values.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Facilitation of self-administered questionnaires to participants
•Review data obtained from questionnaires for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify challenges in obtaining valid data.
• Compile a field report daily and meet with supervisor daily to submit completed assignments and discuss progress.
•The Surveyor must ensure that data collection materials, including materials and paper documents, are kept physically secure at all times and that confidentiality is maintained.
•Responsible for corresponding with potential interviewees (setting up appointments and working around interviewees’ schedules etc.)

Qualifications and characteristics: Any experience in a research-related position or any position that largely incorporates client relations and/or frequent travel within Botswana. Any tertiary qualification. Should be familiar with most areas within Botswana and be able to communicate in Setswana fluently. A valid Botswana drivers’ license will be an added advantage.
