Media and Emergencies Communication Specialist, P-3, Geneva, Switzerland

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Communication Specialist to provide National Committees and private sector fundraising country offices the requisite information on UNICEF programmes, policies and issues of concern and help develop specific strategies for and with them. The position also acts as liaison between National Committees, UNICEF field offices, DOC and EMOPS on communication issues related to news events, publication launches, emergencies and media relations.

Qualification:
• Five years’ work experience including three years of journalism / media relations experience, covering development and/or child rights issues for a media outlet.

• Background and familiarity with strategic communication during high profile news events and emergencies.

• Experience handling and giving media interviews.

• First-hand, practical experience in digital media outreach and news reporting for the web (both mainstream digital news platforms and digital social media).
