1. Dean Student Aff airs & Welfare
Main purpose of the Job
Provide strategic leadership to the development and provision of student a airs and welfare activities,
responsible for policy formulation, development of students, counselling services inductions and commencement
of activities.
Quali fications, Experience and Competencies
• Minimum: Masters in Educational Management/Leadership or Guidance & Counselling from an accredited
institution or related fi eld
• Certificate/Diploma in open and distance learning Experience
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the area of student services/learner support management or student
counselling, five of which at management level
• Possess clear understanding of student support needs and ability to resolve student concerns
• Experience in higher education institutions will be an added advantage
Competencies required include:
• Knowledge of planning and project management
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and support innovation and change, and enhance programmes
and services.
• Ability to think strategically
• Self-motivation, creativity and imagination
• Knowledge of learning support systems
• Exceptional communication (written & spoken) and presentation skills
• the ability to relate effectively with a diverse group of senior administrators, staff, students and a wide variety
of internal and external stakeholders;
• Tact, diplomacy, good judgment and excellent negotiation/conflict resolution skills
2. Director, Research
Main Purpose of the Job
Provide strategic leadership, direction, and administrative management of the research and innovation function
by developing and implementing a research and fundraising strategy for supporting institutional research
agenda and promoting the function of intellectual property and products, and coordinating the approval,
funding and support for the research and innovation activities of the College to ensure delivery of quality
knowledge products and services.
Qualifi cations, Experience and Competencies
• PhD in any field from an accredited university.
• 10 years’ experience in a tertiary education institution
• 5 years in management and proven track record in research.
Competencies required include;
• Strategic leadership and management expertise
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Excellent project management skills
• High level computing skills
• Adherence to high standards of ethics and professionalism
3. Director, IT Services
Main Purpose of the Job
Provide overall leadership and direct the implementation of College’s strategy for world class information
technology services to support the academic and administrative operations of the College to ensure it assumes
the position of a technically innovative and forward-looking open and distance learning institution.
Quali fications, Experience and Competencies
• Master’s degree in computer science or related qualification
• Professional certification in a specific IT specialist area
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT, 3 years in a management position.
• Experience of the Integrated Tertiary System (ITS) and /or related ERP systems added advantage
Competencies required include;
• Good understanding of university business processes
• Good knowledge of computer systems
• Proven ability in IT planning organisation and development
• Ability to apply IT to solve business problems with evidence of implementation and management of ERP
systems
• Self-motivated and directed
• Excellent communication skills
4. Legal Services Manager
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide professional legal advice and corporate secretarial services to the College by supporting Executive
Director, Executive team and the Board to deliver high quality governance to ensure efficient, effective and
legally compliant activities and decisions.
Quali fications, Experience and Competencies
• Degree in law from an accredited University
• Professional secretarial qualification an added advantage
• Five years post qualification experience
• Should be registered to practice law in Botswana and be a member in good standing with Law Society of
Botswana
Competencies required include;
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles
• Ability to provide secretarial services to the Board
• Ability to identify and implement practical solutions to complex management and administrative matters
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Influential decision-making competence
5. Strategy Manager
Main Purpose of the Job
To oversee the integration of planning and implementation of strategic projects across College divisions and
departments, and designing an overarching synchronised roadmap aligning the corporate strategy to College
operations to ensure successful execution of its strategic agenda.
Quali fications, Experience and Competencies
• Master’s Degree in Strategic Management/Business Management or Project Management or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience, 3 years in a strategic role
• Thorough knowledge of strategic management
• Strong knowledge of project management
• Demonstrated understanding and training in the Balanced Scorecard an added advantage
• Research orientation
• Ability to use statistical analysis software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
6. Finance Manager, Regional operations
Main Purpose of the Job
Coordinates the budgetary allocation to College regional operations and monitors the management of revenues
and expenditures of the Regions to ensure compliance with the policies of the College and with international
financial standards. Responsible for integrating financial reports from different Regions into a consolidated
financial report of the College to ensure high levels of accountability
Quali fications, Experience and Competencies
• Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business
• Professional ACCA/CIMA
• At least five years accounting experience in a computerised accounting environment with practical skills in
budgeting, preparation of final accounts and cash flow management
• Experience in an educational or university setting essential
Competencies required include;
• Proficiency in accounting principles
• Deep knowledge of international financial reporting standards
• Able to operate computerised accounting systems
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Decisive and assertive
• Team leadership
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Sound work and professional ethics
7. Senior Lecturer x 4 (Departments of Business, Management, Education Leadership & School of
Science & Technology
Main Purpose of the Job
Undertakes research and plays a leading role in the design, development and delivery of a range of teaching
and learning programmes to ensure learners successfully complete their studies. Evaluates and reviews study
materials and curricula covering learning needs, objectives, content, delivery methodologies, assessment and
certi fication according to higher education standards, and conducts outcome or impact evaluation to ensure
high quality output.
Qualifi cations & Experience
• At least a Master’s Degree in the relevant field (Business, Management, Education, Degree in Science and
Technology field ), preferably a PhD, with specialisation in the relevant or related area.
• 8 years teaching, research and community service in a higher education institution
Required competencies include;
• Thorough knowledge of teaching and learning principles
• Knowledge of open and distance learning best practices an added advantage
• Ability to teach and create positive learning environment for learners
• Commitment to academic research and excellence
• Proficiency in digital learning technology
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
8. Lecturer x 3 (Accounting & Finance, Business, Public Administration)
Qualifi cations, Experience & Competencies
• A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject area
• 6 years teaching experience in a tertiary institution
Competencies required include;
• Thorough technical and professional knowledge
• Knowledge of university standards
• Exceptional communication skills
• Learning materials design expertise
• Familiarity with diverse learning technology

9. Business Development Manager
Main Purpose of the Job
Drives College business development initiatives which include locating, developing, negotiating and
implementing strategic business growth plans designed to capture new business opportunities and maintain
and increase existing business relationships in order to College achieve revenue goals.
Qualifi cations, Experience & Competencies
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business Administration/Management
• Minimum of five (5) years of job-relevant experience
• Self-driven and results-oriented, with strong partnership building focus
• Demonstrable business prospecting skills
• Proven ability to cost business projects
10. Instructional Designer e-Learning
Main Purpose of the Job
Explores opportunities for increasing the use of technology as a tool for quality teaching and learning by
assessing needs and designing technology-based learning solutions and programmes to support the marketing
and delivery of College services.
Quali fications, Experience & Competencies
• Degree in Educational/Learning Technology/Multimedia Design or equivalent
• At least five years’ experience in instructional design
• Thorough knowledge of relevant software packages
• Ability to facilitate learning
• Good presentation and communication skills
• Good analytical skills
• Good interpersonal skills
11. Facilities Coordinator
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide a wide range of facilities management activities, day-to-day administration and support for the
facility, maintenance and upkeep of world-class College facilities; ensuring optimal revenue generation through
efficient coordination and utilisation of available facilities.
Qualifi cations, Experience & Competencies
• Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management; Facilities/Estate Management or related area.
• Experience in an educational setting an added advantage
• Knowledge of maintenance activities and expertise in computerized maintenance management systems.
• At least seven years post-qualification experience in facilities management or building maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance
• Strong project management skills, solid knowledge of health, safety and security requirements
• Exceptional communication skills
• Good leadership skills
• Business or commercial orientation
12. Human Resources Offi cer
Main Purpose of the Job
Designs, develops and delivers professional and general human resource services in collaboration with and
support of senior leaders in strategic business units located at the College head office to ensure effective
strategy implementation and efficient operations.
Quali cations, Experience & Competencies
• Degree in human resource management, organisation development, industrial psychology or related field
• Membership of Professional Body required
• 3 years’ experience in a HR organisation
• Knowledge of higher education, especially open & distance learning (ODL) business will be an added
advantage

13. IT Offi cer
Main Purpose of the Job
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining, including installing and configuring, diagnosing faults and solving
problems for computer systems and networks of the regional centre to ensure efficient and effective functioning
Qualifi cations, Experience & Competencies
• Degree in computer science or equivalent qualification
• At least three years’ experience, preferably in an educational institution
• Thorough knowledge of computer systems, hardware and software
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good facilitation skills
• Technology savvy
14. Personal Assistant
Main Purpose of the Job
Provide full administrative and secretarial support services to the Deputy Executive Director to ensure efficient
and effective office operations in support of the institutional strategic agenda.
Quali fications, Experience & Competencies
• Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies
• 5 years’ experience as PA/Secretary servicing an Executive in a medium to large organisation
• Knowledge of office processes
• Full range of secretarial and administrative skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good organising skills
• Tact and discretion
15. Subject Specialist x 1 (Science)
Main Purpose of the Job
Develops, evaluates and reviews subject-specific study programmes and curricula covering learning needs,
learning objectives, content, delivery methodologies, assessment, certification and outcome or impact
evaluation according to higher education standards to achieve high quality open schooling teaching and
learning.
Qualifi cations, Experience & Competencies
• Master’s degree in the subject advertised
• 6 years teaching experience in a tertiary institution

16. Quality Assurance Specialist
Main Purpose of the Job
Working under the general guidance of the Director, provide quality management advice and guidance to
different operations of the Organisation by developing, establishing and monitoring the implementation of
quality standards and measures for academic and administrative services to ensure the College achieves its
strategic goals and mission. Assists the Director to monitor and maintain the quality system of the College to
ensure high levels of compliance
Qualifi cations, Experience & Competencies
• Master’s degree in Educational Management and specialist quality management certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
• Knowledge of quality principles
• Knowledge of educational standards
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and conceptual ability
