This position is located in the Budget and Performance Reporting Service (BPRS) of the Field Budget and Finance Division (FBFD) in the Department of Field Support (DFS). The incumbent reports to the Section Chief.

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in finance, management, public and business administration, accounting, economics or other finance related fields is required. Professional accreditation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), chartered accountant or a similar professional accreditation is desirable. A first level university degree in the above-mentioned fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in business administration, finance, public administration, accounting, economics, budget or related area is required. Three years experience in budget development and financial administration of resources at the international level is required. Experience in the application of Results-Based Budgeting or similar performance management methodologies in area of work is required. Experience in assessing and developing business processes and skills requirements, especially as they relate to accounting and other financial functions, is desirable. Experience in the use of automated budgeting and accounting systems is required. Experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems is desirable. Experience in peacekeeping or other type of field operations is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
