The University is looking for qualified and experienced individuals for the below positions;
The positions are tenable at BIUST Campus, Palapye.
The successful candidates will be appointed on a permanent basis.

Laboratory Assistants (9 positions) Ref: CET/05/15

• Metal Craft Workshop (1)
• Welding & Fabrication Workshop (1)
• Wood and Plastic Workshop (1)
• Plastic & Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory (1)
• Thermo Fluids Laboratory (1)
• Strength of a Material Laboratory (1)
• Mining and Geotechinical Laboratory (1)
• Computer Engineering (Software & Network) Laboratories (2)

Main purpose of the Job

To clean and tidy equipment and areas in and around laboratory or workshop. Ensures that the right equipment and materials are available in laboratories/workshops/departments and issues materials, tools, components and equipment to students.

Qualifications and Experience per position

Minimum Qualification: Science Laboratory Certificate or B.G.C.S.E passes in Mathematics and relevant science subject(s).

Experience: Direct Entry, Experience in the laboratory will be an added advantage.

The Position requires the following competencies/skills:
• Strong communication (both written & verbal) and practical skills
• Ability to effectively present information in all situations to staff, students and other employees of the organization and to all external stakeholders including suppliers.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Team work
