Formally established in 2013, to replace the Tertiary Education Council, the objectives of the Human Resources Development Council (HRDC) are to provide for policy advice on all matters of National Human Resource Development, including coordinating and promoting strategy implementation, preparation of the development plan and advising on Tertiary Education Financing and work-place learning.
This prominent, leadership role is responsible for guaranteeing the performance of the HRDC and that it serves its mandate while delivering high quality and cost effective services to its customers and stakeholders. Specific key responsibility areas include: strategic leadership, organizational advocacy, stakeholder management, council support services, operational and financial performance and organizational growth and development. You will be required to instill values of equity, quality, high performance standards and accountability throughout the institution. Critical competencies which you will need to possess in order to be successful in the role include; visionary leadership, financial astuteness, decision making, communication, business acumen, advocacy, interpersonal and relationship building skills and strategic thinking and execution.
You must be an experienced and impactful leader capable of influencing with credibility and have a wealth of experience gained in a similar function with significant exposure and networking within industry. Applicants should be energetic with a career continuing in an upward spiral. You will be qualified, at least, to masters’ level in human resources development planning, education planning, economic planning, finance planning or related fields from a recognised institution, although a PhD will be considered an added advantage. Your academic background is augmented by your 12 years’ suitable (role and level) demonstrable experience with at least 5 years having been whilst holding a leadership position.
