- Provision of guidance, support and advice to the procuring entities to complete project cycle activities.
- Efficient facilitation of design and construction of projects.
- Efficient Preparation of schedules for regular site visits and meetings.
- Facilitates project inspections and ensures that all projects follow the contractual contract procedures.
- Liaison with the project team to keep development projects expenditure under control.
- Ensure that projects are completed within budget, time and scope.
- Provision of comprehensive progress report in relation to project implementation.
Duties and Resposibilities
- Spearhead the implementation of the Kasane, Kazungula Re-development Project.
- Manages all related projects and sub-projects for the Kasane, Kazungula Re-development Project.
- Liaises with ministries/departments on wide range of Kasane, Kazungula Re-development Project activities.
- Updates ministries/departments on the progress of the Kasane, Kazungula Re-development Project.
- Coordinates the interactions of the KKRP team with other stakeholders such as companies/firms in order to ensure efficient and effective implantations of the project.
- Establishes the current Human Resource needs of the KKRP in relation to achieving the strategic objectives set out to achieve the Project’s desired goals. In this regard appoint all Senior Management positions with the approval of the Permanent Secretary.
- Identifies areas of technical assistance and facilitates sourcing of funding from Ministry of Finance and Development Planning through Permanent Secretary – Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism(MEWT) for the running of the project and related projects and sub-projects under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP).
- Provides professional advice to the project team on all aspects of the project, including but not limited to human resource, procurement, financial budgeting.
- Undertaking periodic review of the project team member's performance.
- Produces and presents regular and scheduled progress reports to Reference Committee in order to provide overall professional advice and progress of the project.
- Works closely with all stakeholders involved in the project in order to guide on the completion of the project.
- Prepare work plans, budget and draft project memoranda to solicit funds for executing the project.
- Manages all related budget and ensure prudent financial management and reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements
-A Master's Degree in Built Environment disciplines (Architecture, Urban Planning, etc).
- Experience in implementing and managing mega urban Turnkey development projects in an environmentally sensitive area.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years; experience in management and coordination of large scale infrastructure related projects.
- Project Management.
- Stakeholder management experience at all levels i.e political, community, private sector, international organizations.
- High level report
- Experience in partnership with private sector on delivery of large scale projects including but not limiting to Public Private Projects.
- Evidence in-depth knowledge of;
1. Intensified urban and suburban planning in an environmentally sensitive area.
2. Project management skills and background
3. Development of unique tourism hub servicing the eco and experiential tourism sectors of the industry will be an added advantage
4. Implementation of sustainable development practices including that of renewable and environmentally sensitive innovative technologies will be an added advantage.
5. Ability to support an investment proves through the encouragement of private sector development in line with the vision of the KKRP.
