MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR – SOFTWARE, C & I
Job Purpose
To design, develop, install, manage and/or maintain equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes at Morupule Coal Mine.

Requirements
Key Activities
- Provides instrumentation and controls design, technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems.
- Provides direction and coordination of the C & I team
- Maintains instruments and control equipment/systems to indicate, measure and control specific aspects of a coal production process and operating plant.
- Maintains SCADA and PLC programming, and is the custodian of all process software
- Develops and reviews test procedures;
- Tests, evaluates, modifies and calibrates products/instruments;
- Troubleshoots and solves problems
- Projects scoping, detailed design, devices programming, configures and calibrates equipment
- Carries out maintenance of Fibre Optic network, PROFIBUS, Leaky Feeder, Radio system, VoIP Telephone system
- Maintains communication system between Underground equipment , Plant Equipment and CCR
- Collects and analyses data on the system and equipment to ensure compliance to standards
- Subordinate development
- Adheres to and promotes safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
- Prepares and maintains sectional budget
PROJECT MANAGER – UNITS 5 & 6 COAL SUPPLY PROJECT
Job Summary
To take accountability for the planning, management and delivery of a large complex project through:
- Effective safety leadership and behavior modeling for the project team, contractors and construction workforce.
- The development of an integrated plan (for the scope of work) incorporating all stakeholders and technical functions and in line with international standards.
- Set-up of required controls to ensure delivery against these standards and the objectives as defined in the project charter.
Requirements
Key Activities
1. Develops integrated, cross-functional Project Execution Plans (PEP) including but not limited to the following:
- Scope definition (Detailed work breakdown structure)
- Execution Strategy
- Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Operational Readiness plans
- Detailed Schedule and Estimate
- Project Controls and Change Management plans
- Stakeholder and Communication plans
- Close-out Plan
2. Sets-up Project for success, taking cognizance of inter alia:
- Alignment on roles and responsibilities with senior leadership and client (operations)
- Performance orientated agreements with external partners
- Establishment of project controls aligned to execution strategy
- Alignment on roles and responsibilities with all team members
3. Ensures transparent reporting of progress supported by:
- QA of the data collection process
- Analysis and interpretation of root cause of variance
- Remedial actions to rectify or alternatively substantiated forecasted impact to the project
4. Provides effective leadership and management of cross-functional team to deliver project against objectives as defined in
the project charter.

Minimum Education
- Technical Degree in either Engineering, Geology, Mining or Metallurgy or equivalent.
- Qualification in Project Management.
- Knowledge of SHE management systems (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001).
Experience:
15 years of experience in the following;

- Project execution in Mining and related operations environment.
- Construction / Engineering Project Management environment
- Construction management experience
- General management experience
- Contractor Management
- Record of delivery of debt funded projects of around BWP 1 billion.
- Experience in leading studies

Company profile
Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) is a coal mining company in Botswana situated 14 kilometres west of Palapye along Serowe/Palapye road and mines coal primarily for generation of electricity in Botswana. MCM has been selected by the Government of Botswana to supply coal to Morupule B Phase II 300mw brownfields power project. This will be achieved through the expansion of the mine via the addition of a new surface mining operation as a dedicated supply to the power station. The feasibility study has commenced, for delivery of coal in mid-2018 to the power station.
