VACANCY: SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST–D4 (13 POSITIONS)
Applications are invited from all suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Clinical Services, tenable at Tutume, Boteti, Bobonong, Chobe, Jwaneng, Charleshill, Moshupa, Mabutsane, Goodhope, Kanye, Okavango, Kgalagadi South (Tsabong) DHMTs.
SALARY: D4 (P180, 492-P199, 260) per annum

BENEFITS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy
Applicants must be registered with Botswana Health Professions Council.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of Six (6) years’ work experience in a related area, of which two (2) years should have been served at C1 level in the Public Service or equivalent level in a Parastatal or Private Sector Organisation.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide technical advice in the provision of Physiotherapy service delivery in a health facility.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
1. Conducts assessment, diagnoses and treats referred patients.
2. Rehabilitates patientsthroughuse of manual therapy, electro-physical modalities and exercises.
3. Conducts health education through health talk, lectures, exhibitions and different types of media.
4. Trains Stakeholders on ergonomics and kinetic handling.
5. Conducts outreach services to designated areas.
6. Conducts home visits for discharged non-fully functional patients.
7. Educates patients and their families about their condition and treatment.
8. Develops treatment plans and goals.
9. Develops and formulates physiotherapy condition protocol.
10. Conducts Clinical Audits.
11. Recommends the Installation of mechanical aids and modification of physical barriers to patients.
12. Liaises with primary hospitals to identify population requiring rehabilitation services.
