Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Operations Manager role is an Executive Management position responsible for ensuring the efficient end to end processing of diamonds through the Company. This involves planning and controlling the diamond pipeline, from import to export, ensuring the technical consistency and integrity of the product through auditable systems and processes. The role is responsible for the technical quality assurance of rough diamond purchases and shipments including accurate and consistent Sales Lot preparation. This executive position is also responsible for the management and development of the operations team.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• A business/commerce /management related degree or executive development programme.
• 10 to 15 years’ technical experience in rough diamond sorting and valuing, with demonstrated knowledge in managing production planning and processes.
• Substantive experience operating at a senior management level in the preparation and delivery of the full mix of rough diamond assortments.
• Ability to interpret diamond data and to value and design new diamond assortments.
• Knowledge of the rough to polished diamond pipeline.
• Proven knowledge of the local and international diamond industry markets.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of diamond stock management systems and processes that facilitate the management of
• rough diamond assortments to a highly consistent standard.
