VACANCY: SENIOR HEALTH OFFICER (REGISTRATION)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizen candidates for the above position at the Ministry of Health, Department of Health Policy Development, and Monitoring & Evaluation tenable at Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana.

SALARY SCALE: D4 (P175, 224- P193, 452 per annum)

BENEFITS:
Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme, (Government Pays 15% and employee pays 5% basic salary).
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing Science and or Diploma in Midwifery or relevant field from recognized institutions. Database knowledge, Masters Degree in Nursing and or Midwifery is an added advantage.
Applicants must be registered with Botswana Nurses and Midwifery Council.
EXPERIENCE:
Six (6) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and or Midwife or a related of which two (2) years should have been served at C1 level in Government or its equivalent in the Parastatal or Private Sector.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Directs, manages and coordinates all activities relating to registration processes and procedures and be responsible for ensuring that the integrity of registration standards are maintained.
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for computerization of all registration information.
2. Ensures that all practicing nurses are currently registered.
3. Responsible for the development of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana registration procedures.
4. Determines conditions of initial registration of foreign nurses and midwifes and solicits registration data from other Nursing Councils to use as guidelines.
5. Collaborates with relevant senior management of Health facilities and Health Training Institutes in matters relating to registration and licensure of nurses.
6. Serves as the Secretary to the registration committee.
7. Undertakes any other duties as may be required to meet the exigencies of the service.
