URC Botswana is looking for dedicated Batswana nationals to join the ASSIST Project Team in strengthening the community health system response to HIV/AIDS. The project is funded by the U.S. Government PEPFAR program to achieve epidemic control of HIV/AIDS in Botswana. We are hiring a total of four (4) motivated and suitably experienced
Community Improvement Coordinators
to lead the implementation and coordination of our improvement work in three geographic areas around Gaborone, and in Gaborone itself.
Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities: CICs actively support existing community platforms and work with local improvement teams to apply quality improvement methods to community referral processes with the aim of ensuring more effective linkages to HIV testing and care, as well as retention in treatment. Primary CIC duties include, but are not limited to, coordinated planning and reporting with community and other partners, and technical support to identify, implement and monitor the effects of concrete change interventions at community and district level.
Job Qualifications: For all applicants to these 4 positions we expect a degree in social sciences or other relevant development fields; A minimum of 5 years’ of work experience, including at district and community level and with direct experience in engaging community stakeholders; Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; An ability to effectively function in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment under gradually increasing delegation; And excellent written and verbal communication, as well as proven interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural context. CICs will be based in communities relevant to respective geographic areas; Willingness to travel within assigned districts and to/from Gaborone for team and other partner meetings is essential.
