Compliance Manager
The aspirant will be expected to assist the Head of Compliance in discharging its compliance obligations within the risk appetite and tolerance of the group in order to protect the reputation of the Bank with its customers and regulators and to avoid financial loss.
Requirements
Main Focus Areas
- Provide accurate and timely compliance advice to all areas of the organization
- Minimise non-Compliance through the application of Compliance principles, policies, processes and procedures. Assist management with any investigations being conducted at any time
- Build a legislative database that includes rules and regulations concerning the bank
- Continuously monitor compliance with laws and regulations by the bank, as well as providing guidance to management in developing remediation programmes
- Where required conduct staff training on compliance issues, and on any interventions aimed at improving a compliance culture within the organisation
- Assist the Head of Compliance in preparing compliance reports for the Board Risk and Audit Committee and where required, the Regulators
- Disseminate and communicate any regulatory/Group policy developments applicable to the bank and ensure that controls are in place
Required knowledge and experience
The ideal candidate should possess a Degree in Law, Auditing, Accounting, Business Management, Finance or equivalent. Passing a Southern African Compliance Institute Board Exam will be an added advantage. Proven experience in compliance risk management in a financial services environment for a minimum of 3 years.
