Archives Officer
The aspirant will be responsible for managing and maintaining documents and other materials that have historical importance in the organization. They may include files, books, papers, maps, photographs, prints, films and computer-generated records. A large part of an archivist’s work is related to making information accessible to users, increasingly in digital format.
Requirements
Main Focus Areas
- Evaluate records for preservation and retention
- Ensure compliance to archive standards and audit requirements
- Ensure all controls in archive room are observed
- File all processed vouchers and documents
- Ad-hoc project work or specific initiatives as directed by the Supervisor/Manager or Head of Banking Operations
- Identify, date, catalogue and index archive materials
- Make records available to users in formats such as photocopies, microfiche and computer-based tools
Required knowledge and experience
The ideal candidate should possess a relevant diploma in Record Management or Material Management with at least 2 year working experience in a related field. Understanding of the Bank operations is critical.
