Requirements
Essential Job Functions will be as follows:
- Maintain in clean and good condition BUMMHI vehicles, while informing the immediate supervisor and Operations Manager immediately of any damages, theft, losses and being aware of any anomalies in the operation of the vehicle for which authorization for repairs will be necessary.
- Assure the proper functioning of BUMMHI vehicles using the checklist each Monday and before each trip, noting any anomalies that may put at risk the security of the vehicle and its passengers.
- Verify that all vehicles documents and accessories are on board and in good order. These include the vehicle sticker, vehicle log, tools and documents related to the trip.
- Drive BUMMHI personnel and other partners to their assigned destinations in a safe and responsible manner and to the satisfaction of the passengers and supervisors.
- Distribute and collect mail and correspondence among the different services and destinations or at the post office, as required
- Advise the immediate supervisor immediately of any accidents, and provide a report, using the proper format, to the Country Director with copies to the Operations Manager.
- Make any on-site minor repairs of any simple mechanical problems without having to bring the vehicle to a garage.
- Position may involve minimal packing and organizing materials, inventory control, receiving shipments and making local deliveries and/or picking up from suppliers
- Assure the security of the vehicle at all times and particularly at night by securing the vehicle in a protected area
- Undertake any other tasks required by the relevant office
Qualification and Experience:
- COSC/BGCSE and Light Vehicle driving license (Class B)
- At least two to three years’ experience of driving a range of light vehicles and accident free driving record
- Reliability and ability to work without close supervision
- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
- Smart appearance
