PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Public Relations Manager. The purpose of this role is to promote and protect the company’s image and reputation, to build and manage mutually beneficial relationships between the company and its various stakeholders and to drive the development and execution of the Public Relations strategy and plans to achieve strategic goals.

Requirements

Key Performance Areas

Manage and enhance the public image of the company
Develop, implement and measure integrated annual communications plans
Develop consistent communication tools and forums across the organization
Implement corporate internal and external communication policies and plans
Ensure the relevance of the corporate website and keeping it updated
Manage Communication with identified stakeholders such as interest groups, policy makers and regulatory bodies, on policy and issues as directed by the Business Development & Strategy Manager.
Conceptualize, write, prepare and place press releases
Be the primary contact point for media organizations at all times.
Manage media monitoring, including issue-spotting
Plan and implement programs to position BLIL as a socially responsible corporate citizen
Manage requests for sponsorships

Education
A minimum of a Public Relations Degree or other relevant degree such as, Journalism, English, Communications or Marketing with a PR concentration

Background Experience

A minimum, of 7 years post qualification experience in a communications environment
At least 3 years at a senior managerial level, with responsibility for external communications
