Background / General description: | |
The Information Quality Group (CFAIQ) is the focal point for enterprise-wide data governance at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank. CFAIQ’s mission is to embed information-based/data-driven insight into every process, decision and action. One of IFC’s strategic priorities is to be more client-centric across all business operations and activities. To this end, CFAIQ is playing a central role by establishing a Central Quality Team (CQT), a centralized governance function tasked with certifying and maintaining Partner information as a Corporate asset on behalf of IFC. The position provides: • A central role building strategic capabilities for client services; • An opportunity to build team leadership and motivation skills; • A platform for influencing new decision-making tools and resources for IFC managers and leaders; • Exposure to a wide range of subject matter experts and business operations that depend on IFC partners. Reporting to CFAIQ’s Senior Operations Officer, the selected candidate will be a member of a ten-person team, two of whom are based in Chennai, India. S/he will be responsible for leading the activities of the CQT. Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. Duties and Accountabilities: | |
Primary responsibilities, include, but are not limited to, the following: • Participating in strategic discussions on partner data quality issues • Coordinating the CQT’s activities with HQ and Chennai staff to develop near round-the-clock global client responsiveness and management of partner data; • Establishing strong commitment to transparency and communication within and from the CQT, effectively capturing meeting minutes and managing action items; • Leading the effort to research and certify all companies under the Client Coverage Framework; • Providing timely responses to Client Leaders’ and other staff related to partner data, determining the appropriate tools and resources to meet their needs; • Analyzing current shortcomings in the client coverage certification process, defining efficiency improvements for both IT and the business, monitoring implementation of defined improvements; • Assisting in the development of quality and completeness metrics for all partner data, with status reports for CFAIQ and Senior Management; • Assisting in the design of new projects that target data quality needs of other Corporate initiatives such as the INFRA/MAS Lotus Note migration project for CRM; • Overseeing the drafting and finalization of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for use by the CQT; • Together with the members of the CQT, defining and routinely updating CQT governance methodology, business rules, and process requirements as source documentation for compliance and certification activities and workflows, e.g., , forms, checklists, manuals, and training documents; • Together with the other members of the CQT, certifying requests to create new partner records and editing/updating existing records; • Developing proficiency in Informatica’s Data Quality and Master Data Management (MDM) software; • Developing effective working relationship with the IT teams responsible for maintaining and enhancing IT software/tools used by the CQT; participating, as needed, in all related user acceptance testing. | |
Selection Criteria: | |
Seeking a highly motivated individual who will bring the following qualities and capabilities to this position: Selection Criteria • Master’s Degree in data intensive discipline (economics, finance, statistics, etc.); • At least four (4) years of experience in data quality management, analysis or research roles within financial institutions; knowledge of IFC’s systems of record, business processes and operational procedures will be considered a plus. • Experience leading staff in executing tasks assigned and completion in timely fashion; • Demonstrated hands-on experience in analyzing large databases; • Experience in research, analytical and technical assistance; • Excellent qualitative and analytical background; • Strong communication skills (written and oral); • Competent in office technology tools with advanced Excel skills; • Direct experience and/or knowledge of Informatica’s Data Quality and Master Data Management (MDM) software, Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), and Hoover’s; • Data mining skills (including data auditing, aggregation, validation and reconciliation) are a plus.
