The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship in Web Design under the Individual Performance Strengthening Branch of the Human Resources Division. The position will be based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The Internship will be for an initial period of three (3) months starting from February 2015.

The Individual Performance Strengthening Branch is a key partner in the achievement of WFP's strategic objectives. This branch focuses on strategies and tools that support the alignment, engagement and performance management of the staff in the organization. In order to enhance the service provided to a highly diverse global workforce, working in very challenging contexts, the Individual Performance Strengthening Branch is revising the tools and support mechanisms available for staff member and supervisors in this area.

Description

The selected candidate will be assisting the WFP Individual Performance Strengthening Branch with the following key duties:

• Review the workflow and navigation tree of the Performance Management tools and Performance Management Portal
• In close collaboration with a team of developers and a graphic designer, be responsible for the web design of the tool and the improvement of its user interface;
• Carry out tests of new functionalities and propose creative solutions for current challenges;
• Work with other colleagues in the team in order to identify existing and new resources to incorporate to the tool;
• Contribute to additional initiatives and/ or campaigns managed by the Branch.

Essential Requirements

• Currently enrolled or have recently graduated from a University degree in Computer Sciences, Web Design or related studies;
• Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study;
• Have attended courses in the last 12 months;
• Fluent in English;
• Proficiency in HTML, Java Script and CSS
• Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Terms and Conditions

• Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the amount of US$700 per month depending on the duty station.
• WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, travel to and from WFP internship location, necessary visas and costs related.
