SUPPLIES MANAGER
VACANCY CIRCULAR NO: 1 OF 2015
SALARY:D2 (218,592.00 – P241, 344.00) per annum
QUALIFICATION: Degree in Supplies Management
EXPERIENCE:Must have served for at least 2 years as Principal Supplies Officer II, D3 or equivalent
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To direct, manage and coordinate procurement activities in accordance with supplies and procurement regulations.
DUTIES:
•Oversees the procurement process to ensure compliance with supplies regulations and cost effectiveness.
•Conducts stocktaking to determine optimal use of Council stores and proper record management.
•Monitors use of stock to determine economic order levels at all times in order to avoid over stocking, stock outs and separate fast, medium and slow moving items.
•Provides professional advice on matters of procurement.
•Develops safety and security measures to avoid material loss due to pilferage and deterioration.
•Develops an annual master plan for materials requirements for departments.
•Develops and implements storage and layout plan for supplies to ensure appropriate storage according to their nature and ease of identification.
•Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
•Undertakes any other duties as directed by management.
