Our mission is to help developing countries realize long term economic benefits from sustainable mine development. Mining is an important industry for many of the world's poorest countries as it can provide jobs, economic opportunities, infrastructure, revenues to government, and other benefits for local communities. We work with private sector companies and coordinate closely with the World Bank's policy team that works with governments on mining regulations and revenue use. We have investment teams based in over 20 countries that draw on their global expertise in delivering advice and innovative financing solutions to clients around the world. IFC’s mining team is responsible for managing IFC’s investments in exploration, development, and production stage mining companies or projects. Our strategy includes targeting equity upside opportunities with junior mining companies while also supporting transformational mining projects of national or regional importance. The team works with a wide range of investment products, from project finance and corporate loans on the debt side, to equity and quasi-equity in private or listed companies. To support the growth of this business, IFC is seeking a highly experienced candidate with a solid technical background and sound business judgment for the position of Technical Advisor/Mining Specialist. Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, he/she will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment.
