The Program Coordinator is responsible for utilizing evidence based research to provide programming and training surrounding Child Sexual Abuse in Botswana.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for utilizing evidence based research to provide programming and training surrounding Child Sexual Abuse in Botswana.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct sessions with youth and community members on the issues surrounding child sexual abuse
• Collaborate with community stakeholders, social workers, health providers, police, teachers, chiefs and child protection committees
• Develop action plans to encourage constituents to contribute to the Botswana Speaks parliament platform.
• Implement programming and training based on SSI’s findings from the Gaining Traction by Action project regarding the provision of services to survivors of sexual abuse
• Implement programming and training based on SSI’s findings from the Gaining Traction by Action project regarding customary law and upholding the Children’s Act
• Coordinate and conduct research regarding child protection
• Coordinate key strategic partners
• Oversee implementation of a service scorecard across social sectors
• Liaise with government officials and traditional leaders
• Monitor project progress and submit timely reports

Qualifications
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in youth development, law, community development or related field
• In-depth knowledge of issues surrounding child sexual abuse and SSI’s Gaining Traction by Action project
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Program management experience
• Ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities, meet deadlines and exercise sound judgment.
• Previous experience in community mobilization and advocacy
• Knowledge and experience in facilitating using participatory techniques
• Strong oral and written communication skills i.e. ability to write reports
• Willingness to travel throughout Botswana- especially in Bobonong, Good Hope Sub-district, Kanye and Selibe Phikwe where the project is based.
