Chief Financial Officer

A Canadian TSX-listed junior exploration company looking for a CFO based in Southern Africa – ideally Lusaka or Johannesburg.

Below is a summary of the role description

The Chief Financial Officer will have overall management of the finance and administration departments and personnel. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Financial reporting-specifically the completion and filing of interim and fiscal year-end Financial Statements
• Establishing controls over financial reporting - designing, planning, directing, implementing, and maintaining.
• Cash and investment management- including all related budget preparation and monitoring
• Audits, tax and regulatory compliance. All related communication and liaison with the external auditors and Government agencies on tax issues
• Financial technology solutions and systems – maintaining a modern system
• Monthly reporting to the President on financial related matters
• Strategic advisory as it relates to the brokerage and financial community at large, and specific situations that may relate to individual underwriters
• Various activities to enhance the corporate image in the financial community
• All accounting matters as it relates to reporting under IFRS
• Supervision of all accounting staff or consultants as retained by the Company

The candidate would ideally have experience working for a listed company in the mineral sector. French language skills preferable.
