VACANCY CIRCULAR NO: 4 of 2014 PART - TIME LECTURER (EPIDEMIOLOGY)

DATE: 4th June 2014

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position at the Institute of Health Sciences - Gaborone.

REMUNERATION: P75.00 per hour of teaching

PERIOD: Five months (July to November 2014) - 2 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field from a recognized institution. Master of Public Health (MPH) will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years post qualification experience in a related field.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Participate in implementing and evaluating curricula for various programmes at the Institute.

DUTIES:
1. Develop educational materials and lesson plans
2. Provide lectures and tutorials in Epidemiology
3. Set and mark tests and assignments
4. Monitor the progress of students and provide appropriate counseling.

REMUNERATION: P75.00 per hour of teaching and P4.00 per script for assessments

PERIOD: Five months (July to November 2014)

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field from a recognized institution. Master of Public Health (MPH) will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years post qualification experience in a related field. Has conducted research or participated in supervision of research projects.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Participate in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating curricula for various programmes at the Institute.

DUTIES:
1. Provide instruction in research and assist students in developing research proposals.
2. Monitor the progress of students and provide appropriate counseling.

QUALIFICATIONS: a) Minimum Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
or equivalent. Should be Registered with Botswana Health Professionals council
EXPERIENCE: A minimum 1 year practice in the relevant field.
DUTIES:

1. Gives lectures and tutorials
2. Main focus areas are Clinical Chemistry and Immunohematology and blood bank.
3. Perform practical teaching
4. Set and mark assignments, tests and exams
VACANCY No: 9 of 2014 – PART TIME LECTURER (CHEMISTRY)

REMUNERATION: P75.00 per hour of teaching
Period: Five months (July to November 2014)
QUALIFICATIONS: a) Bachelors of Science Degree (Chemistry)

EXPERIENCE: A minimum 2 year practice in the relevant field.
DUTIES:

1. Prepare teaching material.
2. Conduct lessons

RENUMERATION: P75.00 per hour teaching

PERIOD: Five months (July to November 2014) – 3 hours

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.

EXPERIENCE: At least ONE year post qualification working experience.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Participate in implementation and evaluation of curricula for various programmes at the Institute.

DUTIES:
1. Develop teaching materials and lesson plans
2. Provide lectures and tutorials in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
3. Set and mark tests and an end of semester examination
4. Monitor students progress and provide appropriate counseling
