Drill & Blast Trainer

Successful Mining Company with operations in East Africa are looking for a Drill & Blast Trainer at their copper open cast hard rock mining operation.  

Position Overview and Key Responsibilities 

- Regularly review and develop the training materials in line with the business objectives. 

- Review current drilling and blasting procedures. 

- Undertake knowledge and skills evaluations. 

- Develop and structure the drilling and blasting training packages. 

- Provide day to day knowledge (classroom based) as well as practical (on the job) training. 

- Ensure all training matrixes and training records are kept up to date. 

- Develop TNA for Drill & Blast. 

- Monthly report on progress.   

Formal Education,  Certifications or Equivalents        

- Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment, Surface Blasting Ticket. 

Working Experience – Nature & Length   

- 5 years’ experience in drilling and blasting operation training.   

- Extensive hands-on experience with the late model drill rigs, ideally including Atlas Copco L8, D65 and Pantera 1500. 

Leadership Experience – Nature & length of time        

- 5+ years’ experience as D & B Supervisor or above. 

Other skills and abilities   

- Driver’s license, good level of computer literacy, strong commitment to supporting the development and growth of employees.
