The Locomotive Scheduler leads all MPS Planning for the GESAT Locomotive Operation. This individual creates and implements production schedules that meet customer commitments as well as business financial and operations targets. The GESAT Scheduler leads inventory forecasting and reporting for the GESAT WH & Kitting Operation. | |
Create and deploy a global Supply Plan that incorporates multiple inputs from Demand Planning activities. Work closely with Sub-contractors & Sourced material assemblers to schedule needs for kits & materials required for assembly. Align system-driven planning with factory & supplier capabilities through lead-time analysis and lean deployment. Work closely with plant leaders, material managers, & Sourcing to ensure achievable fulfillment planning Review input/output models to forecast expected inventory levels for the GESAT W/H & Kitting Operation. Perform the conversion process between factory ERP and Export Kitting ERP. Utilize tools to refine and/or ultimately eliminate this process. Leverage best-practices with Global Locomotive Master Scheduler and align business processes for maximum factory efficiency. Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment. Has the experience or expertise to solve problems. Able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. Demonstrate accountability for long-term planning of production requirements Support the ITO function and contribute to material procurement timing Coordinate the master production schedule for a plant site and ensure a consistent handoff of planning information to the production work cells Load information into COPICS material management system Interface with COMM OPS and Manufacturing cells to track production progress Gather production metrics and periodically report these metrics to the materials manager Ensure that the master schedule and production schedules are synchronized Coordinate plant prioritization of activities to achieve delivery of regional revenue, GGM and CM Report and monitor plant production load and capacity Make use of business forecast with easy to access and transparent data Support the standardization of production and material reporting processes that contribute to QMI reviews Drive scheduling discussions with the region to focus on a rolling 13-week outlook as well as quarter delivery | |
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college At least 5 additional years of experience in Materials, Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering or Scheduling Role | |
Efficient with ORACLE 11i, CAS ERP systems Efficient with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint Strong quantitative and analytic skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Six Sigma training is preferred (GE Employees only) P•rior scheduling experience is preferred Strong influencing skills within a matrix organization Knowledge of COPICS Six Sigma training is preferred Knowledge of production and inventory management Strong oral and written communication skills |
