DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL SERVICES

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To lead, plan and coordinate all activities associated with technical related projects that support company-wide investments. To provide direction and support to a multi-disciplinary team having responsibility over engineers, mining activities, technical services and project development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop the operational plan for technical services in line with overall business objectives.
Provide direction and support for engineering projects and goals, super vising consultant design activities.
Coordinate project activities with other internal department to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
Ensure that each department manager has activity plans, SOPs, budgets, and test plans required by MDCB and/or local and government agencies.
Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with business imperatives and relevant legislative requirements.
Manage the departmental budget.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Proven track record of successful management and debt sourcing relationships.
Superior understanding and proficiency of technical services.
Proficiency in policies and procedures.
Good business acumen and project management skills.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with excellent presentation skills.
Strong people management, coaching and mentoring skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a mining r elated area. Master's Degree preferable.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 12 years post-qualification experience in project management, design management and contract management.
