MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead and direct the Human Resources and Administration function. To provide direction to guide people management, facilities and health and safety interventions, applications and outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and monitor organization-wide people management strategies, policies, procedures and processes.
- Provide leadership to the Human Resources and Administration team.
- Develop and implement a retention and talent management strategy.
- Develop human resources, administration and health and safety operational plans.
- Develop and drive the implementation of Performance Management System.
- Assist in establishing a system of risk management.
- Alignment of MDCB business objectives through divisional processes.
- Manage the departmental budget.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of the people management policies on the business.
- Understanding of remuneration management, salary benchmarking and grading/job evaluation.
- Practical experience with managing employee relations activities and relationships with regulators and government-related agencies.
- Thorough understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment of the organisation and relevant labour legislation.
- Proficiency in policies and procedures.
- Good business acumen and project management, organisation and coordination skills.
- Strong people-management and leader ship skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with excellent presentation skills.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology. Master's Degree preferable.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 12 years post-qualification experience.
- At least 4 of which should have been in senior management role responsible for strategic planning.
- Experience in the mining sector will be an added advantage.
