Job Summary
The Project Procurement Manager is responsible to manage a dynamic team of Project professionals such as Project Procurement Managers, Contract Managers, Senior Contract Administrators and Contract Administrators as deployed across capital projects. This should be achieved in collaboration with the Lead of Supply Chain and the Lead of Projects to ensure that alignment is achieved between Projects and SCM and Debswana.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying and/or Business Administration or an equivalent procurement related qualification.
- Eight (8) years’ experience in Capital Procurement with 5 years in a senior capacity.
- Experience in project procurement
- Experience of managing large disparate teams
Key Activities
- Ensure that business targets are achieved;
- Give direction to Project Procurement management team to ensure that:
- Category Management strategies are implemented in Projects;
- Quality Project Procurement strategies are in place and aligned;
- Detailed and practical Procurement Operating Plans are in place;
- Project Procurement resourcing needs are adequately addressed per Project;
- Framework agreements are utilised and best practice contract management in place;
- Engagement with suppliers of key equipment is timeous;
- Up-to-date supplier and price information is utilised in the preparation of estimates;
- All of the above items are executed in such a manner that it supports successful Project delivery as well as achieve business objectives.
- Participate in Project stage gate reviews;
- Identify and implement cross functional Process Efficiency initiatives that will support successful project delivery;
- Develop, motivate and grow subordinates in terms of ability and skill levels;
- Serve on several working committees as required;
- Build strong relationship within the Supply Chain Central Team as well as within the operations.
- Providing guidance and advice to management and staff and promoting awareness of ethics, governance, controls and risk management through various forums
- Preparing audit files which confirm to the requirements of professional standard for review by the Head of Audit Services
- Initiating, monitoring and controlling short term ADHOC assignments to ensure attainment of desired results
