Our established and fast-growing Healthcare practice in Brussels has an opportunity for an Associate Consultant to join our dedicated team as of July 2014.
Summary:
We are looking for an experienced junior to mid-level professional who can add real value to the growth of the Healthcare practice going forward while being involved with day-to-day support and management of client projects including monitoring key issues and developments, outreach and engagement, new business support as well as practice development support.
The candidate would need to possess fluency in English and significant, relevant, experience in a public affairs, advocacy or communications environment with focus on the Healthcare services sector. Moreover, the Associate Consultant shall demonstrate tactical abilities, and have strong written and oral communication skills. He/she will interface with all levels of staff and clients regarding projects and some business travel will be required.

Responsibilities:
- Daily support and management of client projects including monitoring key issues and developments, outreach, engagement and coordination of meeting programmes
- Maintain reliable day–to–day contact with clients in providing service, email/ telephone contact with clients as needed, without requiring a supervisor to intervene
- Maintain, grow and effectively deploy knowledge of the key Healthcare sector issues, Brussels developments and actively support the practice development
- Participate in client meetings and add value to discussions with appropriate awareness of meeting and client dynamics
- Prepare and draft complete proposals, customised credential packages for prospective clients, highlighting APCO capabilities, relevant case studies, high-level industry notes and observations (requiring minimal revisions by managers)
- Participate actively in internal office and team meetings, offering knowledgeable observations and suggestions; maintain self-awareness and professionalism to ensure contributions are appropriate
- Identify ways for expanding client engagement and present ideas to senior staff members
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and support new business process as required
- Proactively identify external meetings and trainings to attend to build sector knowledge and contacts
Qualifications:
- University degree in related field required
- Significant proven experience in Healthcare Public Affairs and/or Communications (consulting environment, association, private sector)
- In-depth Healthcare sector knowledge and understanding (Food and Consumer Goods sector’s knowledge can be considered as a plus)
- Experience in developing and executing communication and public affairs programmes at EU level
- Strong EU institutional background understanding and network
- Fluency in English essential (spoken and written)
- Excellent command of another EU Member State’s language desirable
- Computer Skills: MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Eligible to work in the EU.
Office Environment:
The physical abilities needed to perform the duties of this position, in addition to the office climate.
