Job Requirements | |
Qualifications and expertise required: -National Diploma/ Degree in Health/ Occupational Hygiene/ Environmental sciences (e.g. Chemistry) -Professional registration as an occupational hygiene assistant or technologist with SAIOH -Legal knowledge certificate Specific experience required: -2-3 year’s relevant Occupational Hygiene experience at Assistant level -2-3 year’s relevant Occupational Hygiene experience at Technologist level -Quality management system experience and knowledge -Computer literacy Operational, financial and technical: -Execute occupational hygiene program in own area of responsibility -Execute measurement and monitoring program in line with strategic goals -Conduct health risk assessments and surveys in the work place -Analyse and interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions -Advice to line management on occupational hygiene related issues -Knowledge of Occupational diseases -Execute initiatives and utilize systems to comply with Occupational Hygiene quality management system (ISO 17020) -Participate in the executions of relevant policies, practices and standards -Participate in reaching annual and medium term strategic goals -Leadership and growth -Supported and articulated vision and values and goals aligned to business direction -Share expertise freely and often -Continuously improve professional development -Customer and relationship -Participate in the implementation of corrective and remedial actions -Support BUs to retain OSHAS 18001 certification with regard to statutory occupational hygiene matters -Ensure effective relations with Business Unit SHE managers and coordinators -Innovation and improvement -Identify interventions to address occupational hygiene non-conformances General: -Knowledge of project management -Maintain world class Occupational Hygiene practices (R & D) -Liaise with Business Units and Professional Bodies to maintain good working relations -Driver license required and willing to travel when required -Has a strong sense of urgency in addressing quality of service -Identify and execute opportunities to exceed client expectation | |
