Requirements

Duties: The successful applicants should be able to teach social work methods, in particular, fields of practice, social work supervision, leadership and mentorship, Interpersonal communication skills, Writing in Social Work, and Research. He/She shall be expected to provide motivation to the students, ability to link social work theory with social work practice, teach and supervise research at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out other duties as may be directed by the Head of Department.

Requirements: The applicant should have (i) at least a Masters’ degree in Social Work; (ii) a Bachelor’s degree in Social work with at least a 2(i) pass; (iii) has practiced social work for at least 5 years; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research with a proven record of conducting empirical research with a thesis and/or dissertation and Not just a Research Essay as a product of his/her Masters Degree; and service (service to the profession and community); (v) evidence of excellent analytic, writing and communication skills; (vi) a proven record of engaging in quantitative data analysis and familiar with the use of quantitative data analysis tools such as SPSS etc. (vii) relevant PhD, relevant teaching experience and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be an added advantage; (vi) preference will be given to applicants who demonstrated a broad understanding of the social work landscape in Botswana (b) and (c) evidence of excellent analytic, writing and communication skills.
