LECTURER IN BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS [2 Year Fixed Term Contract]

Requirements

Duties: The successful candidate must be qualified and competent to teach Business Information Systems courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate must be able to teach in at least 3 of the following areas: Systems analysis & design; Strategic information systems; Accounting information systems, database systems, decisions support systems, Business software development, Business systems security, Information systems auditing, e-commerce and project management. Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages is crucial: Python, Java, C++ and Visual Basic.net and be able to program in one of these environments: Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows platforms.In addition, the candidate will be expected to undertake research and perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in information systems or equivalent; (ii) a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with at least a 2(i) pass/ GPA of at least 3.6;(iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service; (iv) a relevant PhD, a Professional qualification, teaching experience at a University or comparable institution and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages.
