IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST - SIGNET DIRECT DIAMOND SOURCING

Signet Direct Diamond Sourcing invites suitably qualified citizens of Botswana to apply for the vacant IT Support Specialist position.

The primary responsibility of the role is to provide hardware and software technical support to end users in a technically progressive environment. They provide first level, primary helpdesk support to staff. This includes performing installation, maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair on computer hardware, applications, and peripherals. This person will also directly support all PC-based system software, printers, interfaces and connectivity software

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelors’ degree is required with a concentration in Information Technology or Computer Science.

Two to five years of similar or related professional experience. Basic knowledge of local and wide area networks, network devices, PCs, operating system Software and Microsoft

Competencies

• Ability to diagnose problems.
• Experience with Administration of Windows Server 2008, 2012R2. Certifications Preferred.
• Strong skills relating to Windows 7/10, MAC, PC/Laptop hardware and Helpdesk environments.
• Experience in PC and Server hardware/software support. (HP, IBM)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Detail oriented, organized, punctual and consistent in performance of duties and attendance.
• Strong reading, writing and oral communication skills.
• Experience with supporting and managing devices that use Wifi in a corporate environment.
• Experience with phone system administration a plus.
• Knowledge of VLAN and Network Security.
• Knowledge of EIA/ TIA 568B Telecommunications Standards (Analog, Digital, VoIP)
• Knowledge of local/domain user security, Active Directory and Group Policy a plus.
• Knowledge of Powershell.
