MARKET DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - BOTSWANA STOCK EXCHANGE

The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) is looking for a dynamic professional to join the Exchange, and contribute to the development of Botswana’s capital market:

MARKET DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the core responsibilities of the job shall include among others to educate the public about the BSE and its products through communicating and promoting its role in capital market development, citizen economic empowerment, and growth of the economy. To proactively identify potential organizations and participate in negotiations to encourage listings and to enhance liquidity, investment opportunities and economic diversification.

Requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Development and implementation of the BSE Branding, Marketing and Public Education strategies that will enhance the brand and market the Exchange.
Management, coordination, planning and delivery of public relations and public education campaigns to enhance understanding of the returns and risks of investment products listed on the BSE by local and foreign investors.
Networking closely with the local and foreign corporate business community and pro-actively promoting the use of the Exchange as a means of raising capital.
Management and coordination of public and private media relations and overseeing the preparation of press releases and briefs.
Management and supervision of investor market research and recommending to the CEO and divisional managers regarding the development of the Exchange to meet investor needs.
Management and development of the department’s human capital, instilling a high performance culture in order to achieve the Exchange’s strategic objectives.
Undertaking other such duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer

The successful candidate should have a Masters in Marketing and Public Relations, Finance or Economics, and have at least 10 years working experience preferably in the financial services sector.
