SENIOR DESIGN DRAUGHTSMAN

Reporting to the Chief Draughtsman, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:

• To complete all design and detail work required by the departments in terms of all project work, maintenance engineering, plant improvements and support
• Producing multi discipline drawings accurately and on time for the Work Request originators from various BCL departments
• Producing accurate Design Drawings and details for the Hot Metals Department
• To consistently deliver drawings as per agreed commitments
• Ability to work with minimum supervision

Requirements

Job Requirements

• National Diploma in Draughting and Design Technology or equivalent.
• A sound knowledge of structural steel, piping and general mechanical design
• Must have extensive experience on Auto CAD 2010 or subsequent versions
• Basic Engineering calculation skills
• Must have experience in the various Microsoft Office software
• Experience in a Smelter environment or mining environment will be a distinct advantage
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as Design Draughtsman
