SUPERINTENDENT MINERAL RESOURCES

Reporting to the Manager Geology, the successful incumbent will be required to perform the overall supervision and updating of the resource modeling and estimation processes.

Requirements

Key Performance Areas

• Achieving and maintaining high Safety, Health and Environment standards.
• 3-D Resource and Geological Modelling.
• Best Practice Resource Estimation using Linear Geostatistics.
• Resource Reporting and reconciliation to at least SAMREC/ JORC standards.
• Development and refinement of Estimation strategies.
• Technical support to Mine Planning, Process and Grade Control.
• Ensures validity of all data used in modeling and estimation.
• Ensure and signs-off that all work generated by subordinates is to the required standards for SAMREC and JORC.
• Geological interpretation of Exploration and Mining data
• Maintains and updates existing resource models on a 6 monthly basis for Exploration and Grade Control drilling.
• Wireframe and block modelling.
• Geostatistical and Statistical data analysis.
• Optimisation of estimation parameters.
• Ensures reporting deadlines are met.
• Ensure the correct use of estimation parameters by GC staff, planning staff and geology and validates their work

Job Requirements

• BSc Geology
• Ideally should have a formal post- graduation training program.
• Minimum of 5 years practical Geological and Estimation experience including Database Management and Mine to Mill reconciliation.
• Must have sufficient appropriate experience for SAMREC/JORC Competent Person status.
• Ability to train and develop subordinates
