Population Services International/Botswana is a non-governmental organization that aims to help the people of Botswana – especially the most vulnerable - live longer, healthier lives. To achieve sustainable health impact, PSI Botswana utilizes an evidence-based social marketing approach to promote the adoption of healthy behaviours and health products and services.
PSI/B invites applications for the following positions (on short-term contracts) to assist during a research study expected to start in August and to end in September 2014. Fieldwork for this study will occur at five locations in Botswana and travelling might be required.
INTERVIEWERS (4 QUANTITATIVE &12 QUALITATIVE)
• Recruit qualifying respondents
• Conduct one-on-one interviews
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned
Required Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or health related field preferred.
• Extensive experience conducting one- on one interviews
• Ability to handle complex study designs in terms of procedures and ethical requirements
• Experience with data collection on HIV/AIDS related topics or with diverse communities in Botswana will be an added advantage
• Fluent in both Setswana and English
TRANSCRIBERS- DATA PROCESSORS (4)
• Translating and transcribing audio- recorded interviews
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Required Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or health related field preferred.
• Ability to type 25 words per minute.
• Fluent in both Setswana and English
TRANSCRIBERS -CODERS (4)
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or health related field preferred.
• Coding transcribed and translated qualitative data
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Required competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or health related field preferred.
• Fluent in both Setswana and English
HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT
• Screen applications and arrange for interviews
• Maintain and update personnel records for project staff
• Prepare contracts of employment
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management
• Fluent in both Setswana and English
