This is an opportunity for a graduate in a finance related subject who is ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, qualified or part-qualified, to join the team responsible for the financial management and accounting services at the Secretariat.
As an Assistant Financial Accountant (Treasury), you will use your positive attitude, good communication skills, knowledge of financial accounting and cash management to maintain the treasury function of the Secretariat. You will also regularly reconcile local and foreign bank accounts, ensuring awareness of daily cash balances and managing cash flows. You will work with overseas banks to make funds available for staff on mission and also explore alternative financing options. You will support the monthly management accounts cycle and year end audit process, and assist with internal and external audits. You will work collaboratively within the finance team as well as with Divisions across the organisation.
You will have five years’ experience in accounting as well as experience in multi-currency bank reconciliations and transactions. You will be an experienced user of MS products with a strong working knowledge of Excel. Ideally you will have working knowledge of IPSAS and experience in using an ERP system. This is a customer-focused role which requires the ability to work in a flexible environment, and the ability to organise your own workload whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
