Duties and Resposibilities

- Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budgets.

- Visually inspects the plant for spillage, reports on a daily basis and completes appropriate checklist and log sheets.

- Performs manual tasks in confined spaces or large areas to carry out tasks such as spillage, cleaning, lashing, unblocking, digging, purging removing vegetation.

- Operate fixed waste disposal facilities and supports equipment for cleaning vegetation removal, etc, within the plant in accordance with set standards and guidelines.

- Incubators.

- Shredder.

- Vacuum suction, (vac air) systems (including minor maintenance such as replacing minor maintenance such as replacing filters.

- Performs machine checklist prior operation the machine.

- Operates and controls the machine during the machine operation.

- Starting and shutting the machine as required by machine operating specifications.

- Acknowledging machine critical alarms and taking appropriate action. Clear spillage using skid loader. Remove general waste from cages using tractor and waste trailer.

- Performs maintenance activities in area of responsibility by:

- Assist Maintainer operations in carrying out activities (e.g. nozzles, changing cyclones, and unblocking pipes) on categorized or prescribed equipment.

- Documents and reports machine/equipment defects and maintenance requirements to General Shift Foreman.

- Carrying out basic maintenance on categorized plant equipment (e.g. cyclone changes, screen mats, inspections/changes), dismantling and cleaning equipment.

- Performing lifting operations as per procedures.

- Complies with diamond control guidelines, policies and procedures.

- Provide input on diamond control as necessary.

- Adheres to safety, health and environmental policies in area of responsibility.

Qualifications and Requirements

- O'level/BGCSE or equivalent

- Two (2) years exposure in one processing plants

- General Plant Assistant Training (Theory Training / Phase training I and Specific Plant Appreciation)

- Safety, Health and Environmental training

- Driver's Licence
