Software Technician [REF: KDM 003]

This position will be custodian to all control and instrumentation equipment and standards for Karowe mine to ensure compliance with relevant instrumentation standards and principles.

Duties and Resposibilities

- Software design, programming implementation and modification
- Evaluation and testing of new or modified software programs and software development procedures
- Systems maintenance execution
- Design planning and analysis effectiveness
- Information Management (documentation)
- Quality standards and procedures writing, revision and verification/validation to ensure quality assurance.
- Trouble shooting/ debugging software
- Technical leadership and management on software development projects
- Coding standards and guidelines enforcement
- Safety, health and environmental compliance

Qualifications and Requirements

- Recognized Technician Diploma in Electronics/ Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- 5 years post qualification experience, three of which should have been in a similar position.Â
- Experience with industrial instrumentation essential.
- Experience with electronics, digital electronics, control systems and ALLEN Bradley PLCs essential.
- Previous experience in software development and server operating systems and maintenance essential.
- Driver's License.
- Ideally Registered with the Board of Technicians.
