CAC Plant Operator [REF: JWNG00169]

Duties and Resposibilities

- Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budget.

- Defalsifies concentrates to ensure an adequate sorting rate and an acceptable product for dispatch.

- Remove large stones through manual sieving and weighs them as per standard procedure

- Reconciles diamond production by:

- Weighing and recording of diamond information in the DIIS

- Parcelling the diamonds for dispatch to set procedures 

- Imports and exports dock locks and canisters as per procedure

- Prepares diamonds for export by:

- Weighing individual canisters and packaging and loading them onto trunks.

- Sealing the trunks as per procedure and general reporting.

- Operates various CAC plant processes (primary and secondary acidisation, neutralisation, nitric acid boil and ultrasonic) as required.

- Monitors various process parameters (e.g. PH o scrubbers, chemicals, water level) replenishes plan chemicals as required.

- Manually transfers product within the various process stages.

- Carries out basic operational maintenance as directed by supervisor.

- Inspects plant equipment e.g. conditions of gloves, dock lock canisters, glove boxes, feeders, valves, transfer belts, scales etc. to detect any faults or potential future faults.

- Install new or replaces equipment to ensure safe work policies and procedures in the CAC

- Cleans and reports all spillage occurrences.

- Maintains seals, keys records in accordance with procedures and reports deviations

- Adheres to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility.

Qualifications and Requirements

- O'Level /BGCSE or equivalent

- Two (2) years plan operation experience in an ore processing plant (inclusive of plant processes appreciation training)

- Phase 2 Metallurgical Training Programme (inclusive of plant processes, laboratory and basic Engineering Appreciation Training)

- Appropriate Safety, Health and Environmental training

- Sorting experience will be an added advantage.
