DIRECTOR FINANCIAL SERVICES - RE-ADVERTISEMENT

The University is looking for qualified and experienced individual for the below stated position; 

The position is based at BIUST Campus, Palapye. 
The position is offered on a contract basis of three (3) years.

Main Purpose of the Job

To plan, organise and coordinate the University’s financial management and reporting functions to ensure the financial integrity of the University through accurate and timely financial records. 

Academic Qualifications 

A minimum of a Bcom or Finance and Accounting and a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, CA is a requirement. 

Experience 

A minimum 8 years of senior level management experience as a Finance Manager in a large organisation with experience in financial planning management and reporting fiscal management, capital development projects, risk management accounting and financial accounting in big organisation and experience in Oracle is essential.

• Strong skills in financial analysis, accounting, treasury, budget control and appropriate computing skills
• High level conceptual and analytical ability and to think strategically and work effectively in a University environment
• Ability to communicate clear financial strategies and programs and influence people positively and foster collegial and cooperative attitudes to ensure financial prudence and intergrity
• Strong analytical skills with ability to understand social, economic and financial implications of decisions made and to advise other departments accordingly
• Proven ability to lead and develop a cohesive and effective team to achieve optimal results, and a positive attitude and commitment to employee development and effective leadership
• Ability to value and apply intellectual processes within a well defined coherent framework in a creative, innovative and resourceful manner
• Sound communication skills and ability to demonstrate clear and effective two way communication style with a wide range of people and situation
• Consultive and inclusive management
• Must demonstrate personal commitment to excellence
