Job Summary
To assist the Teacher at the Pre-School with educational and non-educational tasks as delegated.

Requirements

Minimum requirements

• O ’levels plus Early Childhood certificate
• 2 years’ experience in a education environment
• 2 years in an English medium environment will be an added advantage

Key Effectiveness Areas

• Assists in the compilation of budget by providing information based on functional sectional resource requirements.
• Produces, prepares and sets up teaching material as directed by the supervisor.
• Performs all tasks of a predominantly manual nature i.e cleaning, lifting, moving and offloading duties. etc.
• Sets up outdoor equipment, monitors and supervises children during free play to ensure their safety.
• Observes small groups/ individuals identified as needing additional assistance i.e translations, listening to children re- telling stories and reports to the supervisor.
• Attends to and deals with minor incidents/ accidents when they occur e.g children’s emergencies such as vomits, toilet (Self mess) and bus routine. .
• Assists with the toilet and tea –time routine for a group of children daily.
• Performs an array of administrative duties, including but not limited to; photocopying and collation of teaching material, newsletters, etc collation of pupils’ files.
• Implements safety, health and environment programmes in area of responsibility taking cognizance of all legal requirements
