SALES ENGINEER


The role
As a Sales Engineer you will use your technical knowledge and sales skills to develop customer solutions, provide advice and support on a range of Sandvik’s product line and applications to meet customer expectations whilst achieving sales targets.

Requirements

Main Responsibilities / Key performance areas
  • Business development to generate sales by selling company products and services to existing customers and new customers.
  • Identify and develop sales opportunities for Sandvik product lines and applications within the defi ned territory or set of customers.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting of their operational requirements
  • Liaise with After- Sales Service team and group technical experts to develop customer tailored solutions / value add propositions.
  • Respond to tender enquiries or requests for quotations and develop appropriate solutions for customers.
  • Sales administration and tender response to achieve a high level of deal participation
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
  • Provide budgets, sales forecasts and sales performance reviews as per the company’s business planning cycle.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis on regular basis
  • Management of contracts to maintain profi tability and contribute positively to company results
  • Work as part of the account management team for local or global accounts to identify customer sales opportunities
  • Provide training and product support material to sales team and customers
  • Support marketing activities through technical presentations and attendance of conferences, trade shows and other marketing events
  • Compliance and management of SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL program in the workplace and also with customers
Your profile
  • Degree in Mining / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Marketing Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mining / technical or sales environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of underground mining equipment will be an added advantage
  • Proven competence in Microsoft Offi ce applications as well as other CRM Systems
  • A solid technical background and good business acumen
  • Teamwork ethics
  • The ability to build relationships with clients
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sales and Marketing knowledge and skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
A valid driving license
