Duties and Resposibilities
Reporting to the Director, HRD Statistics and Observatories, the position will be responsible for, among other things, the following:
- Plan and organize the resources of the Business Unit.
- Ensure provision of service in line with Service Level Agreements.
- Manage the analysis and evaluation of business requirements of HRDC to support management  information systems design.
- Supervise on-going research on the most optimal and cost effective solutions to improve workflow.
- Ensure close liaison with Corporate IT and with service providers for development, maintenance and upgrade of IT solutions that address the business requirements of HRDC.
- Guide the assessment of systems upgrade/alternatives for optimizing computer resources.
- Authorise the purchase of new equipment or software packages.
- Recommend, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and enhancements to computer systems.
- Development and implementation of effective information systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field plus Masters in either IT Strategic Management, Project Management or related field  from a recognise institution.
- Minimum of 9 years post qualification experience. 3 years of which should have been in a Management role.
- Professional Certification in any specific IT - related fields (e.g Computer Programming or computer systems analysis).
- Experience in the HRD sector will be an added advantage.
